Private by design
Your privacy
What Somebody checks, what a service actually receives, and what it never gets — stated plainly, not as a promise of anonymity.
What Somebody verifies
- Control of your email address.
- Control of a mobile number, classified as a mobile line rather than a landline or VoIP number.
- The country associated with that verified mobile number.
These are separate checks. They are not government-ID verification, proof of residence, citizenship, or physical location, and not a promise that an agent will behave well.
What a service receives
- Verification results — whether your email and mobile are verified.
- An opaque, per-service subject: a random id stable for one profile at one service. Two services cannot compare subjects to tell they're talking to the same person.
- Only under an auth type you were shown and approved: a username, a display name, a self-declared real name, or your verified mobile's country.
What a service never receives
- Your email address.
- Your phone number.
- Any identifier that would let two services recognize you as the same person.
Private by construction
- Somebody can resolve a key back to an account internally. Participating services cannot — they only ever see their own opaque subject and key.
- Your email and phone number are encrypted at rest.
- One verified mobile number per account. This is deliberate: it keeps losing access to an account from being a way to spin up a fresh, unrestricted one.
- A report a service files against your account is that service's allegation — not a finding or judgment made by Somebody.
- We email you whenever an agent connects through one of your connections, so there is a record even when you weren't watching.
Who provides what

|---|---|

Retention and data requests
A formal retention and deletion schedule is being defined before Somebody is available beyond this pilot; it isn't published yet. Until it is, your verification facts and account data are kept for as long as your account is active. For a data request — to see, correct, or ask about deleting what Somebody holds on you — write to support@somebody.name.
